Frequently asked questions

Not directly. A new 12V battery doesn't disturb the forward camera or radar physically, so DS Drive Assist's optical and radar inputs stay aimed where they were. Where battery work can trip the ADAS is the module reset that follows. Some DS modules drop their calibration values when the battery is disconnected and need recoding to bring the assistance functions back online.

A DS 7 Crossback owner came to us describing exactly this pattern. New battery fitted, daytime running light replaced, and the Drive Assist warning appeared. The fix isn't always a full rig calibration. Sometimes it's a module-coding session through Stellantis-compatible diagnostics. The workshop reads the fault codes first and quotes accordingly, so you don't pay for a full calibration when a coding refresh is what's needed.

Because DS Automobiles is positioned as Stellantis' premium passenger brand and the dealer hour rate reflects that, even though the underlying hardware on a DS 4 or DS 7 shares modules with the Citroen C4 and C5 Aircross. The diagnostic tool is the same Stellantis-compatible kit. The labour multiplier is what differs.

DS dealer quotes for ADAS calibration typically come in at £450 or higher after inspection. Our accredited workshops carry the same Stellantis-compatible diagnostic equipment, run the documented procedure for DS Drive Assist, and price at network rate from £199. The certificate sits on the car's service history as DS-spec calibration evidence, regardless of which workshop tier ran it.

Most DS 4 forward camera calibrations after a windscreen replacement run between 90 minutes and three hours, depending on the workshop setup and whether any module coding is needed alongside the rig procedure. The camera sits at the top of the new windscreen and has to be re-aimed to the road using the calibration target boards.

We quote in hours, not days. You drop the car in, the workshop runs the procedure, and you collect the same day with the certificate. DS Drive Assist comes back online once the calibration completes, lane keeping engages on the test drive, and the post-job readings get logged onto the certificate alongside the OEM procedure reference. If anything else has flagged during the diagnostic read, the workshop calls before extending the job.

If your DS 7 has the optional night-vision camera fitted, that calibration is a separate procedure to the standard Drive Assist forward camera. Night vision uses a dedicated infrared sensor mounted in the grille area, and any front-end repair or bumper work that disturbs that mounting needs the IR camera re-aimed alongside the forward radar.

Not every DS 7 has night vision. It was optional on higher trims. When you book, mention whether the spec sheet shows night vision and what front-end work was done. The workshop confirms which calibrations the diagnostic read flags and the quote covers what's needed, not what isn't. The certificate at the end documents each sensor calibrated.

Yes. The DS 9 (2020 onward) runs the same Stellantis-compatible diagnostic stack as the DS 3, 4 and 7, and the calibration procedure for its forward camera and radar is documented in the same workshop manual structure. The DS 9 is rare on UK roads, which is exactly why dealer quotes tend to be high and waiting times long.

Our network carries the Stellantis tooling that covers the DS 9 the same way it covers the rest of the range. Windscreen swap and post-collision repair are the typical triggers we see flagged. Send the registration when you enquire so the workshop can confirm the spec, particularly if your DS 9 is one of the late-arrival hybrid or plug-in variants where the module coding has a few extra steps.
