How calibration works
- 1
Send your details
Quick form, about 60 seconds. Your registration, what's been done or what's wrong, and how to reach you.
- 2
We match you to a service centre
We route your enquiry to the nearest service centre set up for your make. They confirm the itemised quote and the appointment with you direct, in writing, before anything is booked.
- 3
Calibration and certificate
The centre runs the manufacturer-spec calibration and issues your certificate on completion. Any diagnostic scan the job needs is itemised on the quote, never folded in silently.
Aiways calibration prices
Network rates, the same at every service centre, whichever Aiways is on the ramp. Every price is per system, shown inc VAT with the net figure alongside. Your total is confirmed in writing before anything is booked.
Calibration — per system
Coding a replaced part to your vehicle
- When your job needs a diagnostic scan, it's £54 inc VAT (£45 +VAT), always itemised as its own line. It shows which systems were live before work started.
- Two or more systems in one visit: the highest-priced system is full price, each additional system is 35% off at a centre. Scans aren't part of the discount. Front camera and front radar together come to £267.30 inc VAT (£222.75 +VAT).
- A replaced camera or radar is coded to the vehicle and then calibrated, so a replacement job is the coding line above plus the calibration for that system, with the multi-system discount applied at a centre. Your written quote itemises both.
- On mobile trade visits only: if the technician attends and the calibration can't be completed, a sensor fitted misaligned for example, a call-out fee of up to £72 inc VAT (£60 +VAT) applies.
- Mobile calibration is available for garages and bodyshops with workshop conditions. Ask us.
Aiways models we cover
Aiways was never officially sold in the UK, so the cars here are imports; years shown are European-market years. Coverage is case-by-case. Send your registration to confirm.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Aiways never opened a UK dealer network, and the cars here arrived as imports, which is why owners struggle to find a brand specialist locally. The cars themselves use manufacturer-spec ADAS hardware that runs through standard diagnostic equipment, and our network handles them.
We confirm the trigger (bumper repair or windscreen swap), confirm the model (U5 or U6), and run the calibration to the manufacturer procedure. The certificate we issue documents what was done and sits on the car's service history. That record protects you with insurers and with any future buyer.
Because there's no working Aiways dealer network in the UK to publish a list price. Owners typically end up going to whichever independent specialist will look at the car, and that specialist quotes after seeing it on the ramp. Dealer quotes customers have shown us for ADAS work run £300 to £900.
Our network prices per system instead. Front camera calibration is £162 inc VAT (£135 +VAT), front radar is the same, with the full rate card on this page. Two or more systems in one visit: the highest-priced system is full price and each additional system is 35% off at a centre. Same manufacturer-spec result, and your quote is confirmed the same or next working day, itemised in writing before anything is booked.
Largely yes. The U6 (2023 onward) shares the U5's ADAS architecture, and both models see the same two triggers: bumper repair and windscreen swap.
The calibration procedure on both is run through manufacturer-spec tooling with the car level and the targets set to the documented distances. One booking covers either model. If you're not sure which trigger applies, send the registration when you enquire and we'll check the specification.
Yes, if the workshop didn't run the calibration. The forward camera on the U5 is bonded to the windscreen, so any glass replacement either moves the camera or the bracket it sits in. The dashboard flags ADAS within a short drive, and the lane and collision systems stop working.
Some windscreen fitters reset the warning code without running the actual calibration, which is why the warning comes back. The fix is a full static calibration with the car parked level and the target board positioned to spec. Our network carries the manufacturer-compatible equipment to run the procedure.
No. Under UK block exemption rules, an independent workshop can carry out the calibration without affecting your warranty, provided the workshop follows the manufacturer's documented procedure and uses compatible equipment.
Our service centres do both, and the certificate we issue documents what was done. Given the lack of an active Aiways UK dealer network, this is often the only practical route to getting the car back on the road with a calibration record that holds up. The certificate sits on the car's service history.
