How do we reach you?

Helps us match you to your nearest centre and verify it's you when we call.

Tell us which view has changed and whether the cameras are factory-fitted or an aftermarket system.

An overhead picture made from cameras around the car

The bird's-eye parking view is assembled from separate camera images. Depending on the car, cameras can sit at the front, rear and beneath the door mirrors. Calibration sets the image alignment for the system to combine those views.

This is not the windscreen camera used by lane or other driving-assistance systems. Nor is it the same job as fixing the round parking sensors in a bumper.

A black view, warning or uneven image join needs checking before assuming calibration will fix it. Correct calibration cannot repair broken hardware or remove every blind area and distortion inherent in the system.

What has changed in the parking view?

Recent work and the affected view are useful clues, even without a fault code.

  • The joined picture looks different

Tell us if the overhead view has become crooked or an image join has moved, and when it changed. A photo helps distinguish a new problem from normal display limitations.

  • A mirror has been replaced

Mention which mirror, whether its camera was transferred or replaced, and any missing view or warning. A replacement mirror can involve more than the glass and indicator.

  • A camera was disturbed during repairs

Include work to the grille, bumper, tailgate or camera mounting. The required checks depend on the vehicle and repair, not simply on whether a warning appears.

Centre calibration price

This service establishes the image alignment used by the surround-view system. The required procedure can concern an affected camera or the combined parking view.

Service Price including VAT
360 / surround-view camera calibration
£162
£135 excluding VAT

The price is for calibration, not an all-camera repair or replacement package. Camera coverage and any additional setup depend on the vehicle and work required. Diagnosis, parts and repairs are separate; unsuccessful work or return visits may carry charges.

From enquiry to appointment

  1. 1

    Describe the change

Send the registration, affected view and recent repair history. A photo taken while parked helps show the change without needing a technical diagnosis.

  2. 2

    Agree the work

Camera mounting, compatible parts and completed installation are prerequisites. Missing views or hardware faults may need investigation before calibration.

  3. 3

    Align the camera images

The technician follows the vehicle-specific image-alignment procedure. Preparation, equipment and the cameras involved depend on that system.

  4. 4

    Review the result

The result and any remaining view or fault concerns determine the next step. Keep the findings with the original repair records.

What to send with your enquiry

  • Registration and system: tell us whether the cameras are factory-fitted, retrofitted or part of an aftermarket screen.
  • The affected view: front, rear, left, right or the combined overhead picture; include the exact message and a photo taken while safely parked.
  • Recent work: mirrors, cameras, grille, bumper or tailgate repairs; say whether replacement parts were new or used.
  • Previous findings: relevant scan and repair-report pages, any setup already attempted, and your location.

You do not need to dismantle a mirror, clear codes or attempt calibration before contacting us.

More about surround-view calibration

Removing or replacing a camera, replacing a mirror containing one, or repairing its supporting bodywork can trigger image-alignment requirements. The vehicle's repair procedure determines the work.

A camera can produce a picture while still needing its specified calibration. Equally, a missing picture does not prove calibration is the cure. A front-grille parking camera is also different from the windscreen device covered by front-camera calibration.

The system processes images from exterior cameras to produce parking views, including an apparent view from above. Calibration establishes the reference information used to align those images.

Some systems use stationary patterns or reference points; others have a prescribed drive-calibration routine. These are vehicle-specific workshop procedures, not DIY instructions.

Calibration does not repair a cracked lens, loose housing, damaged cable or incompatible camera. It also cannot add missing cameras or convert a reversing-only installation into a surround-view system.

No single camera count applies to every vehicle and repair. Some procedures concern an individual camera; others establish alignment for the combined view. Replacing one mirror therefore does not automatically mean replacing or recalibrating every camera.

The displayed calibration price is not an all-camera repair package or a per-camera amount to multiply by four. Describe the affected view and repair history in your enquiry so the quote concerns that work. Parts, repairs and replacement configuration are different tasks.

Not necessarily. A missing image can involve the camera, power, connections, a control unit, replacement setup or calibration status. The screen alone cannot identify the cause.

A diagnostic scan and further checks may be needed. Useful distinctions are whether one individual view is absent, only the combined picture is affected or every view has stopped. A changed image after repairs is a clue, not a confirmed diagnosis.

A matching housing or working picture does not prove a replacement is compatible or fully configured. Used parts and original-equipment retrofits can have vehicle-specific setup restrictions. Include the part details you already have and whether the original camera was transferred.

Aftermarket camera kits and screens may use different equipment and adjustment routines from factory systems. Calibration cannot make an incompatible component work. State whether the system is factory-fitted or aftermarket in your enquiry; no dismantling is needed to obtain extra details.

An overhead view is assembled from separate wide-angle images rather than a camera above the roof. Objects, blind areas and image joins can therefore look different from the real scene, even with correct calibration.

A new or noticeably changed join after repairs is worth reporting, but a perfectly seamless picture is not a universal measure of success. Follow the parking-view limitations in your handbook and continue checking the surroundings directly.

Frequently asked questions

For a reversing-only view, see reversing-camera calibration. A rear camera contributing to a surround-view system can need a different procedure. If you are unsure which system is fitted, describe the views your screen normally offers and what changed. You do not need to choose a technical service name before enquiring.

A battery disconnect is not a substitute for diagnosis or calibration. It does not repair faulty hardware or establish correct image alignment. If the problem began after battery work, include that sequence in your enquiry rather than repeatedly resetting the system.

Yes. While safely parked, photograph the affected view and exact warning. Include whether one view, several views or the combined overhead picture changed, and any recent mirror, camera or body repairs. Do not take photos while driving or dismantle anything for the enquiry.

Only mirrors containing a relevant camera can affect its image alignment, and the required work depends on the vehicle and repair. Replacing mirror glass is not necessarily the same as replacing the housing and camera. Describe what was changed and whether the original camera was reused.

No. Calibration aligns an existing supported camera system. It does not supply extra cameras, install wiring or add surround-view functions to a reversing-only system. A retrofit is a different project with its own hardware and compatibility requirements.

Do not rely on an affected camera image. Follow the warning instructions and parking-view limitations in your handbook and seek qualified advice if you are unsure about the vehicle's condition. Mention any travel concerns in your enquiry.
