How calibration works
- 1
Send your details
Quick form, about 60 seconds. Your registration, what's been done or what's wrong, and how to reach you.
- 2
We match you to a service centre
We route your enquiry to the nearest service centre set up for your make. They confirm the itemised quote and the appointment with you direct, in writing, before anything is booked.
- 3
Calibration and certificate
The centre runs the manufacturer-spec calibration and issues your certificate on completion. Any diagnostic scan the job needs is itemised on the quote, never folded in silently.
BYD calibration prices
Network rates, the same at every service centre, whichever BYD is on the ramp. Every price is per system, shown inc VAT with the net figure alongside. Your total is confirmed in writing before anything is booked.
Calibration — per system
Coding a replaced part to your vehicle
- When your job needs a diagnostic scan, it's £54 inc VAT (£45 +VAT), always itemised as its own line. It shows which systems were live before work started.
- Two or more systems in one visit: the highest-priced system is full price, each additional system is 35% off at a centre. Scans aren't part of the discount. Front camera and front radar together come to £267.30 inc VAT (£222.75 +VAT).
- A replaced camera or radar is coded to the vehicle and then calibrated, so a replacement job is the coding line above plus the calibration for that system, with the multi-system discount applied at a centre. Your written quote itemises both.
- On mobile trade visits only: if the technician attends and the calibration can't be completed, a sensor fitted misaligned for example, a call-out fee of up to £72 inc VAT (£60 +VAT) applies.
- Mobile calibration is available for garages and bodyshops with workshop conditions. Ask us.

Frequently asked questions
If the knock involved the front bumper or the area around the front camera, yes. The Atto 3 (on UK sale since 2023) mounts its forward camera at the windscreen and the supporting sensors in the front bumper zone. A typical case looks like this: a warning appears on the dash after a parking knock and won't stay away.
The dashboard warning usually clears for a short drive then comes back, because the sensors are reading the road wrong rather than being electrically dead. The fix is a static calibration through manufacturer-spec tooling, with the calibration board positioned to BYD's documented distance. Certificate after, sits on the car's service history.
Because the BYD UK dealer network is new and most workshops haven't priced enough calibrations to publish a list rate. The dealer usually wants to inspect the car first, then quotes against the specific job. Dealer quotes customers have shown us for ADAS work run £300 to £900.
Our network prices per system instead. Front camera calibration is £162 inc VAT (£135 +VAT) and front radar is the same, with the full rate card on this page. If a part was replaced, the coding of the new module is a separate line, £232.80 inc VAT (£194 +VAT) for a front radar, and that system's calibration then sits alongside it as the discounted second system. Two or more systems in one visit: the highest-priced system is full price and each additional system is 35% off at a centre. You get the itemised total in writing before anything is booked.
The certificate records the post-job readings against BYD's tolerances, the same standard a dealer issues, and sits on the car's service history, which matters for resale on the newer BYD models where buyers are still learning the brand.
Same BYD driver-assist architecture, different calibration scope depending on what was touched. The Sealion 7 and Seal U DM-i share the BYD ADAS platform with the Seal and Atto 3, and the procedure runs through manufacturer-spec tooling regardless of which body style.
The variation is in the trigger: Seal bookings lean toward windscreen swap and bumper repair, the Seal U DM-i sees more post-collision work. Send the registration and a description of the trigger when you enquire, and we'll confirm the scope before quoting. One workshop handles the lineup.
Same procedure family, different model setup. The Dolphin (on UK sale since 2023) carries its forward camera at the windscreen, so a windscreen swap is the typical trigger: the camera moves with the glass.
The Atto 3 sees both bumper repair and windscreen swap triggers because the bumper houses supporting sensors. The calibration runs through manufacturer-spec tooling on both, with the target positioned to the correct distance for whichever model is on the ramp. Our network covers the UK BYD range, Atto 3, Dolphin, Seal, Seal U DM-i and Sealion 7, in the same workshop.
No. Under UK block exemption rules, an independent workshop can carry out the calibration without affecting your warranty, provided the workshop follows BYD's documented procedure and uses compatible equipment.
Our service centres do both, and the certificate we issue documents what was done. That record sits on the car's service history and protects your position with the BYD dealer network. For newer cars where the warranty is the main asset, this is the route that keeps the record clean while getting the calibration done quickly.
