ADAS Calibration for Haval models

Windscreen swap on your Jolion and now the lane keep warning won't stop flashing? That's Haval Intelligent Driving losing its camera reference point. The forward camera needs a static recalibration before those systems trust what they see again. We sort it in under 90 minutes.

Haval ADAS Calibration Cost

Calibration costs depend on your specific Haval model, which ADAS systems need recalibration, and whether mobile or workshop service is required.

Haval ADAS Systems We Calibrate

  • Full-Speed Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) - front radar integrated into the grille and bumper assembly. Triggered by any bumper repair, grille replacement, or front-end collision. Without recalibration, ACC may brake late or not detect slower traffic at all.
  • Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection - uses the same forward radar plus a windscreen-mounted camera. A windscreen replacement shifts the camera bracket by millimetres, enough to throw off pedestrian detection at city speeds.
  • Lane Keep Assist (LKA) - relies on the forward-facing camera behind the windscreen. Any glass change, even a stone chip repair that disturbs the camera housing, requires recalibration. LKA drifts silently when misaligned, no warning light until it fails a self-check.
  • Blind Spot Detection (BSD) - rear-mounted radar sensors in the bumper corners. Rear collision, bumper respray with excessive paint thickness, or parking sensor work can shift these out of tolerance. A misaligned BSD either misses vehicles in the blind spot or ghosts warnings that aren't there.

Haval sits under the GWM (Great Wall Motors) group. The Jolion and H6 share core ADAS hardware with GWM-branded models, which means calibration procedures and target setups overlap. But Haval's Intelligent Driving software calibration parameters are model-specific, so a generic GWM procedure won't cut it.

The Chinese ADAS Challenge Nobody Talks About

Haval vehicles are built to a high standard. The Jolion packs ADAS features that rival European SUVs at twice the price. But here's the problem most owners discover too late: aftermarket tool coverage for Chinese-manufactured vehicles lags behind the big European and Japanese brands.

Autel, the most common aftermarket diagnostic platform in UK workshops, rolls out coverage for newer Haval models slower than it does for VW or Toyota. That gap matters. A workshop with only aftermarket tools might tell you they can't calibrate your Jolion. They're not lying. Their equipment genuinely can't talk to it yet.

ADAS Line carries the diagnostic coverage to handle Haval's Intelligent Driving suite. We don't send you away because the tool menu doesn't have your car listed. That's the difference between a general garage and an ADAS specialist.

When Haval Owners Need Calibration

After a windscreen replacement

This is the most common trigger for Haval owners. Autoglass or another glass fitter swaps your windscreen, and now the forward camera sits in a slightly different position. Even a fraction of a degree matters. At 70 mph, a 0.5-degree camera misalignment means LKA is reading the road 3 metres off centre at 100 metres ahead. The system either pulls you toward the kerb or ignores the lane markings entirely.

After a front-end or rear collision

Front bumper damage shifts the radar module behind the grille. Rear bumper damage moves the BSD sensors. Even a low-speed car park bump can push a sensor bracket out of its mounting tolerance. Bodyshops fix the panels but don't always know that the electronics behind them need recalibrating. Industry data shows 1 in 10 vehicles arriving for calibration has a damaged component the bodyshop missed entirely.

After suspension or alignment work

The H6 and Dargo sit higher than most crossovers. Any suspension modification, spring replacement, or alignment adjustment changes the angle the radar and cameras see the road. The sensors don't know the ride height changed. They keep aiming where the car used to sit.

The Dargo's 14-Radar Array

The Haval Dargo is unusual in the UK market. It carries 14 radar sensors distributed around the vehicle, supporting 360-degree camera coverage and a transparent chassis view. That's more radar hardware than most German executive saloons.

More sensors means more calibration points after bodywork. A single rear quarter repair on a Dargo can require recalibration of side radars, corner radars, and the rear BSD module. Workshops unfamiliar with the Dargo's sensor density sometimes calibrate only the obvious module and miss the others. The result: BSD works, but the 360 camera stitches images from a misaligned angle, creating blind zones in the overhead view.

If your Dargo has had bodywork on any corner or bumper, all sensors in that zone need checking. Not just the one behind the damaged panel.

Why Haval Owners Choose ADAS Line

  • Chinese vehicle ADAS coverage - we carry diagnostic support for Haval's Intelligent Driving systems when most independent workshops don't yet have it on their tool menus.
  • Fraction of dealer cost - Haval dealer calibration pricing in the UK starts around £400-£600 per system. We start from £199 for windscreen camera calibration.
  • IMI-certified technicians - every calibration is performed by an IMI-certified ADAS technician working in a controlled environment with verified floor tolerances and target positioning.
  • 70+ workshops across the UK - you don't need to drive to a Haval main dealer. Our network covers major cities and regions so you can get calibrated locally.
  • Calibration certificate included - you get a documented calibration report for your records and for insurance purposes. Critical for proving the work was done to standard.

How Haval ADAS Calibration Works

  1. Get a quote - tell us your Haval model and what triggered the need. Windscreen replacement and front collision are the two most common reasons Haval owners contact us. We confirm which systems need recalibrating and give you a fixed price.
  2. Book your appointment - static calibrations (camera, forward radar) take 60-90 minutes. If BSD or multiple radar zones need attention, allow up to 2 hours. We book enough time so nothing is rushed.
  3. Drive away calibrated - your Haval leaves with every recalibrated system verified against manufacturer tolerances. You get an IMI-certified calibration certificate documenting exactly what was done.

Frequently Asked Questions

Haval ADAS Calibration — Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about ADAS calibration for your Haval

Yes. The Jolion's forward-facing camera sits behind the windscreen and controls Lane Keep Assist, AEB, and ACC. Any windscreen replacement moves the camera bracket, even slightly, which throws off the calibration. You need a static recalibration before those systems work correctly again.
